Reyna’s Art Gallery & Café opened Our Sea, Our Life on April 11, 2026, bringing together fifteen artists for a group exhibition dedicated to Belize’s marine life. The show features original paintings and sculpture inspired by the sea, its creatures, and the deep cultural connection Belizeans have with the marine environment.
The opening filled the gallery with art, conversation, live music, food, and drinks. Artists and visitors gathered throughout the evening, creating a strong sense of community around the exhibition and the new gallery space.
One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was the recognition of young artist Darlin Polanco, age fourteen, whose turtle painting was inspired by her grandfather and developed using a knife technique learned from her art teacher. Her participation alongside established Belizean artists gave the exhibition a special intergenerational quality.
The exhibition also highlights the growing network of artists working across Belize, with participants connected to San Ignacio, Bullet Tree, Belmopan, San Pedro, Punta Gorda, and other communities. Our Sea, Our Life reflects the purpose of Reyna’s Art Gallery & Café as both a serious exhibition venue and a welcoming cultural gathering place.
The exhibition remains open to the public through June 2026. Works are available for purchase by inquiry at the gallery.
